Artists

Ali Radman

Ali Radman was born on June 20th,1973 in Tehran, Iran. He was introduced to the classical music foundation and basic theory topics of music by his father, Mohammad Hassan Radman, from early ages. He improved his knowledge of basic elements of music, piano playing and theory of the Iranian music under the conservatory teachers’ supervision, while he was a sophomore in the field of Electronics in Kerman University. In 1990, he became a member of UNIMA as a composer and was accepted as a bachelor student in the field of music at the Faculty of Fine Arts in the university of Tehran in 1995.

Rouzbeh Rafie

Rouzbeh Rafie is a composer originally from Iran and currently based in the Netherlands. Rafie draws inspiration from a diverse range of sources including literature, folk music, and scientific-mathematical notions such as chaos theory. His compositions aim to capture the intricate nature of memory, exploring concepts such as archetypes, remembrance, and the perception of time. Rafie’s artistic pursuit is influenced by his exploration of these various sources, allowing him to create a sound that seeks to be  both ancient and contemporary.

Amin Sharifi

Born in 1993, Amin Sharifi is an accomplished contemporary composer from Iran. His music has been performed in various countries, including the United States, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Russia, Canada, Poland, the Czech Republic, and his home country of Iran. Sharifi has been praised for his creativity and artistic flair, with Kathleen Supove, a renowned contemporary music pianist, describing his work as “creative, individualistic, artistic,” while the Memphis Daily News labeled it the “product of an unbridled imagination.”

Kelariz Keshavarz

Dr. Kelariz Keshavarz is an Assistant Professor of Flute at Western Carolina University with a distinguished career marked by innovative interdisciplinary projects, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and significant contributions to contemporary music. Her devotion to her craft is manifest in her various roles as a solo performer, curator, adjudicator, composer, and pedagogue, and she brings to each a passion for fostering understanding and appreciation of music’s rich and diverse tapestry.

Nima A. Rowshan

Nima A Rowshan (b.1985) began studying music by playing the piano. By entering the Art university of Tehran in 2005, he studied with “Hamed Mohajer” and in the same time he started composition experimentally and through studying the great composers. Nima later attended master classes of “Alireza Mashayekhi”. He co-founded “Ensemble-M” in 2006 to perform & introduce contemporary classical music in Iran. In 2009 he decided to pursue further studies with “Michel Merlet” at the “ècole normale de musique de Paris”.
