Shayan Haseli
Shayan Haseli, the flutist, was born in 1995 in Tehran, Iran. He began learning the flute at the age of eleven under the guidance of Mohammad Ali Lagha at the Tehran Boys’ Music School. In 2012, he graduated with honors in the specialized field. he After successfully passing the entrance exam for the bachelor’s degree at the University of Music, he pursued his studies and graduated in 2018. In the same year, he achieved fifth place in the master’s entrance exam at the University of Tehran under the supervision of Dr. Azin Movahedi. To complete his master’s degree, he decided to migrate.
In 2019, Shayan left Iran for the United States and studied at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee under the guidance of Jennifer Clippert. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in flute performance/teaching at Memorial University in Canada under the supervision of Dr. Michel Shreem.
Throughout his professional career, Shayan Haseli actively participated as the second and first flute in the Isfahan Symphony Orchestra and the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. In 2015, he started collaborating with the National Orchestra of Iran under the leadership of Farhad Fakhreddini. After the formation of the National Orchestra of Iran in 2016, led by Fereydoun Shahbazian, Shayan joined as the second flute and later became the first flute player until his migration to the United States.
In addition to his collaborations in Iran, Shayan Haseli worked as an alto flute player with the Tehran Flute Choir under the supervision of Firouzeh Navaei and led by Saeed Taghadosi in Austria and Switzerland. He was selected as a featured player from the National Orchestra of Iran to collaborate with the “Selected Orchestra of Tehran Symphony Orchestra and National Orchestra of Iran” under the leadership of Shahrdad Rohani in Russia, specifically in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Kazan.
As an independent musician, Shayan Haseli successfully organized private concerts in Yerevan and Vanadzor, Armenia, along with Artashes Gregorian, a Philharmonic player in Yerevan.
Shayan Haseli has received various awards, including first place in the Youth Festival and the Fine Arts Academy Festival in 2007. In 2008, he achieved the top ranking in the Neighborhood Festival in Tehran. In 2020, in the United States, Shayan won the Soloist Selection Competition for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Wind Orchestra.
