Mohammad Reza Tafazoli
Mohammad Reza Tafazoli was born in 1974 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He began his musical studies at the Tehran Music School in 1988 and graduated from the same school in 1992.in 1993, he studied music at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Islamic Azad University and he graduated in 1999.
Mohsen Elhamian, Hassan Riahi, Mehran Rohani, Alireza Mashayekhi and Mohammad Saeed Sharifian were his theoretical and composing professors while he was studying in Iran.
In 2002, he entered the St. Petersburg Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov and studied with Boris Tishchenko, one of Dmitry Shastakovich’s distinguished students. In 2007, after completing his studies at the conservatory, he was awarded the “Red Diploma” (Honors Diploma) and he returned to Iran.
Currently, Tafazoli teaches at the Faculty of Music of the University of Art and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran and he is a member of the Faculty of Music of the University of Art.
His published works include the two CDs “Vagouyeha” (Symphony No. 1) and “Sonatas” (including piano sonatas and cello and piano sonatas), that were published by the Mahour Cultural and Art Institute.
