Biography
Laya Etemadi is a distinguished violist, boasting over 27 years of professional experience in both classical and traditional Persian music. As the Principal Viola Player for the Tehran Symphonic Orchestra from 1994 to 2008, her career highlights include performing with the iconic Daniel Barenboim at the United Nations and London’s Royal Hall. She was also a prominent member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. Laya’s musical education is equally notable, having participated in master classes with esteemed professors such as Felix Schwartz and Professor Sombatian, and earning degrees from Tehran University and Tehran Conservatory.
