Kapitolina Tcvetkova
Kapitolina Tcvetkova, born in 1992 in Chelyabinsk (Russia), is a stage director, stage designer and artist based in France.
Working across experimental forms of opera, performance and installation, she is exploring the questions of fragility, feminity, ecology and memory.
Engaging in trans-disciplinary research she works in collaboration with specialists from different scientific and technical fields to challenge the traditional art forms and their connection to contemporary issues. She works with different mediums (video, sculpture, sound, scenography) to create multi-sensory and multidimensional installations and performances, in which space, object and body strive to coexist and interact fairly.
Her background in puppet theatre, circus (as clown performer, assistant director of Daniele Finzi Pasca), events (assistant choreographer of the Olympic Games ceremonies, associate choreographer FeVi 2019 etc.) and opera (director for several contemporary opera productions; assistant director stage and movement director at Deutsche opera, Zurich Opera, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe etc.) allows her work to combine multiple artistic languages and experiment with their borderlines.
