Hani Ashrafi
Hani Ashrafi, born1981, obtained her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran. She pursued her master’s and doctoral degrees in Philosophy at Allameh Tabatabai University and the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies. Apart from her academic background, she has a strong interest in music and has completed various courses in harmony, counterpoint, fugue-answering, form and analysis, and composition under the guidance of Alireza Mashayekhi.
Her primary research interest lies in German idealism, focusing on philosophers such as Hegel, Nietzsche, Heidegger, and Gadamer. Simultaneously, her main intellectual project involves reflecting on the intersection of philosophy and music or considering music as a form of thought. In recent years, she has conducted courses on philosophy and music at the University of Tehran’s Faculty of Management, Shamsa Art Academy, Alef Foundation, Contemporary Music Magazine, and through her personal Instagram account. Additionally, she hosts a weekly conversation with philosophy professors on the internet TV of the University of Tehran.
