Firouzeh Navai
Firouzeh Navai, Born in 1954 in Ahvaz, Iran, Firouzeh Navai is a distinguished musician flute player. She began her musical journey at an early age, studying at the Tehran Conservatory before securing a scholarship to pursue higher education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Under the guidance of esteemed flute instructors such as Manouchehr Mansourzadeh, Merlin Swindler, and Mehdi Jamali, Navai honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of musical expression.
Navai’s illustrious career spans nearly four decades, during which she resided in Austria for nearly 40 years, teaching and performing extensively. Navai made history as the first female flutist to join the Tehran Symphony Orchestra as the principal flutist, a position she held for many years before returning to Iran in 2013.
In addition to her remarkable performances and teaching engagements, Navai is the founder and director of the Tehran Flute Choir, known for its captivating concerts held in various cities across Europe. She also serves as the chairperson of the board of directors for the “Farzaneh Harp Institute” and as the artistic director of the “BOA Institute” in Austria.
