Farshad Shabani
Farshad Shabani (b.1979) is a distinguished classical guitarist, composer, and educator. He embarked on his classical guitar journey under the tutelage of Rahim Gholami and Farzad Danshmand. Delving deeper into the realm of music theory and composition, he sought guidance from renowned mentors such as Alireza Mashayekhi, Dr. Ali Radman, and Arash Abbasi. His passion for music led him to master the piano under the guidance of Farman Behboud and draw inspiration from the experiences of Hooman Dehlavi.
Diversifying his musical expertise, Farshad Shabani also became acquainted with the traditional Iranian instrument Setar under the mentorship of Mehrdad Torabi. Alongside his dedication to performance, Farshad Shabani is a committed educator, authoring books such as “Short Stories (Thirteen Pieces for Classical Guitar, Roham Publications)” and arranging “Anna Magdalena Bach” for classical guitar. Furthermore, he contributed his talents to the New Music Orchestra, led by Alireza Mashayekhi, resulting in the creation of two albums, “Celebration” and “New Music Orchestra” (Hermes Publications).
From 2007 to 2011, Farshad Shabani showcased his musical prowess as a composer and group supervisor with the Algroove music group, enriching the Iranian music scene with his innovative compositions. He further honed his skills through participation in masterclasses conducted by Dr. Mehrdad Pakbaz, engaging in theater composition, and collaborating with modern orchestras such as Yar-ava (led by Mehdi Jalali). His career also includes collaborations with national broadcasting organizations such as IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting).
