Ali Hashemloo
Ali Hashemlou, Born in 1989, Tehran, Is a composer, multimedia artist, sound artist and organiser of sound related events, based in Rasht. He studied theory of composition under the supervision of Ali Ahmadifar in Rasht city, Iran. He complete his basic studies in Art supervised by Nader Mashayekhi in Tehran.
he In recent years had focused on Installation art, Land art and organizing the new media art events. His thoughts and aesthetics have basics on achieving a creative connection between art work, the environment and the audience. He tries to carry the perception of the audience beyond the borders between reality and imagination, and use the imaginations as a base for re-conception of reality.
in last years, he gained some experiences in composition, installation art and organization; for instance, composing piano pieces (“minor2nd” and “Modulation”) which has been performed of separate concerts in Rasht, Shiraz and Tehran during 2017_2019, organizing three “Electro acoustic events” in Rasht and Shiraz during 2017_2018, curating for “sound art event” in Rasht in 2019, He also been a part of the “Sonotopia” project in Tehran (2019) and Bonn, Germany (2021); he designed and installed the “Square” sound installation during this project in Tehran.
After starting the covid pandemic and closing the art centers he started his career in land art; “Cane brake” sound installation in Anzali harbor, beside Caspian Sea, and in Kish island during “Kish short theater festival” (2020). “Tuba tree” sound installation in the mountains of Masuleh in Gilan (2021).
One of his latest experiences in land art was the “Medium” installation in Dorfak mountains. In this project _unlike the recent experiences_ he changed the purpose from sound to visual approaches. He installed a set of hundreds of small mirrors on a giant tree, to gain visual effects by reflection of the images from the environment on dead parts of the tree trunk.
He is also the Art director and cofounder of the “Medium festival” and currently developing ideas on installations and new media and sonic art related events in his hometown Rasht.
